Basin Taps

A basin tap is one of those fittings you use dozens of times a day without thinking about it until it stops working properly or simply looks tired next to a newly renovated bathroom. Our basin tap range covers monobloc, pillar, tall and wall mounted styles in chrome, matt black, brushed and traditional finishes, suitable for cloakroom basins right through to large his-and-hers vanity units. Monobloc, Pillar or Wall Mounted: Which Basin Tap Do You Need?

Monobloc basin taps are single-unit mixer taps that fit through one tap hole, the most common configuration in modern bathrooms and the easiest to fit. Basin pillar taps are separate hot and cold taps fitted through two holes, more traditional in look and popular in period bathroom schemes. Wall mounted basin taps fit into the wall above the basin rather than the basin itself, a clean, contemporary look that suits countertop and vessel basins particularly well.

Checking Your Basin’s Tap Hole Configuration

Before ordering, always check how many tap holes your basin has and their spacing. A single centre hole takes a monobloc tap. Two holes set apart take pillar taps. No holes at all means you will need wall mounted taps. Getting this wrong is one of the most common and avoidable basin tap purchasing mistakes.

Tall Basin Taps for Countertop Basins

If your basin sits on top of a vanity unit rather than being inset, a tall basin tap is usually needed — the extra height clears the rim of a countertop basin comfortably.
