Walk In Showers & Wetroom Glass
The bathroom world has shifted. Enclosed shower cubicles with doors, frames, and tracks are giving way to something altogether more considered — the open, airy elegance of a walk-in shower or wetroom. Whether you’re drawn to the pure minimalism of a single frameless glass screen, the privacy of a fluted or smoked glass wetroom panel, or the architectural drama of a full floor-to-ceiling glass installation, walk-in showers and wetroom glass screens represent the single biggest upgrade you can make to a modern bathroom. At ShowerBoard, our walk-in shower and wetroom glass range is one of the most comprehensive available from a UK bathroom specialist — spanning clear glass walk-in panels, fluted glass shower screens, smoked glass wetroom screens, complete walk-in shower enclosure kits, and glass panel support arms and channels. Frame finish options include polished chrome, matt black, brushed nickel, and brushed brass — so whatever your bathroom aesthetic, you’ll find a walk-in screen that feels like it was designed specifically for your space.

Walk-In Shower vs Wetroom — What’s the Difference?
These two terms get used interchangeably — but they’re distinct installations. A walk-in shower uses one or more open glass panels to contain water splash, sitting on a low-profile shower tray with no door, no tracks, and no enclosure. A wetroom goes further — the floor itself is fully tanked and gradient-drained, completely flush with the rest of the bathroom. No tray, no threshold, no visual boundary whatsoever. Walk-in showers are quicker and cheaper to install; wetrooms deliver the most seamless, accessible, high-end result but require more structural groundwork. As a rule: want the open look with a standard fit? Go walk-in. Undertaking a full renovation and want a truly level floor? Plan for a wetroom.
Glass Types — Clear, Fluted & Smoked
Your glass choice affects privacy, light, and maintenance more than most buyers realise. Clear toughened glass maximises the sense of space and lets your wall tiles or shower panels take centre stage — though water marks show more readily, so an easy-clean nano coating is worth adding. Fluted glass (also called reeded or ribbed glass) diffuses light through vertical surface grooves, offering soft privacy and striking visual texture — one of the strongest bathroom trends in the UK right now, particularly stunning with brass or matt black frames. Smoked glass provides the most privacy, hides water marks brilliantly, and creates a bold, moody atmosphere that pairs powerfully with dark wall finishes and natural materials.
Glass Thickness, Sizes & Support
All walk-in screens and wetroom panels in our range are available in 8mm for supported installations and 10mm for frameless configurations. Panel widths run from 700mm to 1600mm; standard heights span 1850mm to 2000mm. Most panels over 700mm wide require a wall-mounted support arm, ceiling post, or U-channel floor fixing for safe, stable installation. Not sure what your space needs?
